What do you think. There's a bit up on the left there. Too much?

Sorry you easterners. I couldn't resist. Been reading way to many rust bucket threads. I figured we could use something to offset the HORROR of some of those pics.

Lol. Thanks. If it helps it won't look this clean for long. I just finished cleaning it up. Although it'll never get as bad as you guys out east.

As one of the more recent rust thread starters, and being in the mid-atlantic, I am offended. hahaha. That looks beautiful!

Do realize this undercarriage HAS been refinished in some capacity. The axle looks like it has been physically removed and refurbished, it looks like it was done properly. The frame still has some lumpy spots, but they may have done a POR15 job on it. Any more pics?

You have to watch out for beautiful, black, shiny undercarriages. Mine is a zero rust Texas truck, but it still doesn’t have shiny black finish on any of the undercarriage. That being said a bad spray job on and undercarriage will have a lot of overspray and noticeable oddities but this looks decent.

Notice how the line clips on the charcoal canister are rusty? Notice how there’s rust in the EXACT spot and shape the spare carrier sits? If that area looks like that who knows what it looks like under that black paint.

Duh! Of course the axle has been redone haha. It would have to have been parked for 15 years to still look like that. It was blasted and recoated and every nut and bolt was replaced with new. New parking brake cable etc etc. I had some surface rust on the axle and my OCD took over (took waaaay over!) as I got into replacing some bushings. Lol

There are small spots of surface rust in other places as you (and I) pointed out but nothing like those salt belt trucks. Any rust there is is from wheeling it. This is MY truck. This wasn't an attempt to hide anything just trying to keep it in good shape so I can one day be buried in it. Lol

The post is just some shiny truck porn to offset the horror of those rust belt images.

Read the caption at the bottom of the photo.

You guys down in Texas though make me feel like my nice North western truck is still a rust bucket.
