Hola from Taos!

Been in NM for 6 months, still getting my bearings. Any Taos members out there?

This looks like the closest club to me, but I am not 100% Toyota, yet.

Any objections to the occasional Jeep in the mix?

I have a '94 80 series I am building up for a 3 month Baja trip next fall. Would appreciate some local/hands on input on the build. Haven't been around too many built up 80 series.

I am turning into a serious Toyota fan, yes, considering parting with one of my Jeeps for an fj40 build...

welcome! just wait for Ali to start the 80 series brainwashing, errr education... hes got lots of great ideas, most of them include someones wallet ;):D

Hee hee hee (rubbing my hands together in glee....)

I will happily represent Taos!

I have a nice stretch of BLM land right out my back door, all along the eastern rim of the Rio Grande Gorge.

No trailer, but tow bar on my jeep, and the 80 series...

Drove to the beach last week in the 80, yes, the beach in SoCal, camped in the Mojave!

Looking forward to meeting this crowd!

Welcome, and really, be careful of Ali. Already he has ways to spend your money. :)

Was my linkie broke? I'm kinda new at this internet and forum stuff.

Hey TaosMesa -

Maybe you should consider the Christmas Tree run on Saturday, December 4th to give you a chance to meet some of the group. I will actually be coming from Red River that morning, through Taos and down to Pojoaque and over to Los Alamos and down Highway 4 to meet up with the rest of the group for the run in the Jemez Mountains.

You're welcome to follow along with me in your own rig, or even ride along with me if you'd like. But it will be a pretty early morning in order to get over there in time. Still figuring just how early...

Evan

P.S. You can also see what I've done with my 80. As always, it's a work in progress, but I think it wheels well.

I may be coming from that direction as well that morning. Gotta try out the new meats on the 4Runner...

Steve - Let me know if you want to meet up somewhere along the way to convoy, if you will be up north. I plan to leave Red River Saturday morning in time to meet up with the group at Walatowa.

What tires are you running on the 4Runner?

Okay, I won't know about being up north for a week or so.

These are the tires, 285/75R16:
