Anyone know what this little black box glued to my roof is?
No, I haven't traced the wire yet.

Sirius/XM ?

Why aren't you tracing the wire first and then coming to ask the forum?

Completely off topic: that looks like a Gamiviti rack. Can you take two measurements for me? 1) From the gutter to top of mount and 2) from gutter to top of rack?

Which mounts?
The height above the gutter varies at each of the three locations.

Either GPS for a head unit or a satellite radio receiver (I'm guessing here)

Ah. It may be a satellite radio antenna.
I know there is satellite radio functionality in the nav unit, but I thought it was all integrated and OEM (just like the GPS antenna supporting navigation functions)? This is obviously aftermarket.

Makes me wonder:
When I go hands-free with my mobile phone, is it using an integrated cell antenna somewhere in the truck? (There is an antenna symbol with bars on the nav screen) Or is it still using the antenna in my hand-held?

Whatever the highest mount is. With the RTT, on the factory rack I have very minimal clearance going into the garage. Trying to gauge what the rack deck would be with the Gamiviti. If too high, I'll most likely fab up my own.

^^ you can say that again.

Looks to be satellite.

As far as your cell phone goes, if it's connected to the unit via bluetooth (sorry, an old LC driver here; no LX), you're calling out/answering using the cell phone.

The satellite is most likely Sirius/XM-specific.

Bringing this thread WAYYY back from the dead. I have the same box and was curious if you ever did anything with it? Am I right in assuming I could basically just cut the wire without any issues? I mean, the vehicle is from '06 and I have a GROM Vline.

OP hasn't been on since 12/2022.
Maybe that box was a tracker and whoever put it there finally got him?
