Hey yall!

Long story short: overheated my 07 100 series, radiator blew, head gasket blew, replaced all of it (by the book(FSM)), immediately had rough idle on start up, only in drive and reverse at idle letting off brake, everything was solid enough to load up 3k pound trailer and drive 21 hours straight a few states over.
But couldn’t shake the rough idle. No codes though… until now, a few weeks later and 1500 miles later. I started getting a code for bank 2 sensor 1 o2 lean(P2197), so I replaced that o2 and all of sudden with new sensor in, started getting all passenger side bank codes, misfires, 2,4,8, and b2 s1 o2 lean. And same rough getting worse. Maybe the non fouled o2 allowed the system to send proper codes?

Started to dig in further, swapped all coil packs left to right and same codes for bank 2 passenger side.

My timing alignment was a concern from the beginning (but not sure how it gets worse after 1500 miles? Maybe the fouled out o2?..)

I posted on here before about my 3 dots lining up but when putting the cover back on it was off a bit on the plastic cover “0”.
So now that everything is back together, I figure let me check timing with it lined up on the 0 even though I was lined up on oil sump when I installed.

Anyway, please see pics and tell me how I would fix the half a tooth off if this is my problem? Why would it only be bank 2?

Thank you!!

And here are my pics from when I first installed before putting cover on and then putting plastic cover on to see that it was off 🤔

Not suggesting this is your issue...
Did your heads warp from the overheat when the head gasket blew? Did you get the heads machined? Must have been a huge repair.

Has the engine been compression- and leakdown-tested?

It does look like something is one tooth off in the timing assembly. Could be the result of tension settling in after installation.

That’s is based on the plastic timing cover but it is still dead on with the divet on the block

No, I didn’t do compression or lead down test cause it was running like a top even after overheating! Just had a small leak of compression into cooling system

They sure did! The black was square though. Cylinder head shop said they weren’t too bad and squared them. Yes, huge repair!
