Nicely done, Ryan.

I have the same battery installed in my LX. I was able to get my old clamp cut and rewelded to fit...but I like yours better. I am going to replace it when I do my dual battery setup. I ended up have a new battery tray fabricated...I should post some pics when I have the time.

I still need to do the busbar though...I just have a piece of 4 gage wire connecting the terminal to the fusebox terminal. I also bought mil-spec battery terminals to install when I move into the dual battery setup. If I only had enough free time...

I would love to see your Solidworks files...especially for the clamp.

I'd love to see the Solidworks files and a PDF version if possible,

Thanks,
Kirk

If there is enough interest, I think I could put something together (just got to get the hydraulic brake working).

PM me for inquiries/ files.

I will probably also make a new tray out of Al to really lock the battery in place.

Put me down for a kit. I'd really like to run that battery but have been holding off because I haven't had the time to do what you did. If you could have a little kit including bracket and the copper plate extension it would be a hit. Add a tray and terminal cover and you'd be golden!

Second on the list for a group buy.

Anyone know of any terminal covers that would fit these terminals? I believe they are national luna.

If you guys are seriously thinking about and going to do this mod, I can make some kits for this specific battery or another battery if you have the EXACT dimensions.

I'm serious. Price the kit and I will send you the cash. I'd prefer unpainted or black for the clamp though. I am going to go with the exact same battery. I was gonna go Dual D35 Optima's in the stock location, but being that I just bought DBA Rotors front and back and all part for the 90k PM plus a few others. (Thanks Onur!) I can't justify the added cost of the Nat Luna system and the battery tray plus the extra $100 - $140 in batteries. I'm going to go Group 31m DH Platinum in the stock location , then a second battery later after I get a Front bumper, back bumper ETC. SO count me in! I'm itching to replace my battery.

I'm serious too. Shoot a price and I'll PayPal for the kit. Not in a huge hurry so take your time getting it planned out. Would prefer mine PC black.

Ok, great! I will do some R&D this weekend and get the price hammered out with bottom tray. Any preference on Al vs steel?

Not really, if your TIG skills are on par with your design and construction skills, Unpainted aluminum would look sweet! Thanks looking forward to hearing from you.

Ok, the list:

1) CappyKD Alum or Black steel Alum preferred.
2) OregonLC ? or Black steel ?
3) 3D FJ Alum or Black Steel (al preferred)

No preference, although if steel I'd prefer powder coated. Batts are rust factories. So I guess Al might be a better, less-expensive choice.

If you're an entrepreneur you might want to consider increasing your production run. If it's a hit, more folks will be interested as time goes on.

I will probably make a set of 5 this weekend and see what happens. I will have to see what I have in the shop to see what I would make it out of. Maybe an Al tray and steel clamp? Would probably be easier to fab that way as well. Rust might not be a big issue since these batts are sealed but always and issue. I will probably sell them uncoated and you can paint them to your heart's content. I will keep you guys up to date.

As for the Al skills, I can TIG but prefer the spool gun when I can get away with it for a few different reasons. Here is another battery tray I built for a buddy's KK. It goes under the bed in the stock battery compartment and holds 2 lifeline batteries of obsessive size. They are held in by straps. The middle section is hinged and houses the inverter, charger, circuit breakers, plugs, etc.

I'd be in for this. Have you established a price yet? I'm assuming it'll work for an LX as well correct?

Sounds good!
