Why in the hell would you continue to help him?

He's a neighbor... and I need some good karma.

I now more so just loan tools and give him some advice (scary huh?). I wasn't crawling under that Rover on jack stands sitting on grass!:eek::eek:

His plan now is to sell the Rover. He has a 'domestic' vehicle now. He was lumping Rovers into the 'foreign' car crowd as crappy vehicles. I had to explain there is a bit of difference between a Land Rover and a Land Cruiser.

In the kid's defense- Disco II's are full-time 4Wheel so he would have had to remove the DS entirely before towing. The driveshafts are apparently a real weak point on Discos. (I blame the Tow driver). I was leary of mine and my Disco only had 54k miles on it. The horror stories of failing DS's was pretty common. Several I have read on LR forums about people feeling a vibration for just a few seconds and then "Boom, thump thump thump, BAM!" and the transmission is toast.

I sold mine just as things started to go south. The list of parts failures on Discos was too long for me to want to keep the truck.
