Does not beep all the time, and haven't noticed a possible reason if it is an alarm beeping or alert of some type.

Happens after turning engine off
Key out
Driver door open goes off with driver door closed

Alarm?
Door Open relay, just 20 yrs old and not very reliable?

It beeps if you leave the key in the ignition and open the door to warn you not of lock yourself out. What ever senses the presence of the key must be acting up. Can't recall off the top of my head if it only does it in acc. position, or also when turned back to lock, but not removed. When it beeps, try turning your wheel to see if it is locked, it could be this mechanism isn't working properly.

My annoying beep was caused by what I believe to be a worn and old attempt to bypass the seatbealt warning, sometimes when its cold, the three or four beeps of warning (then stopping) turns into a constant until I buckle up. But that beep is on start-up
