Great find and buy. Never thought I would say "the gold package looks great".. but originality prevails on this vehicle.
I'm not a huge fan of the gold package. I thought about replacing the emblems. Not sure. Maybe they will grow on me.

Waou! Just woau! And I thought I keep the interior on mine clean
This unicorn-like material. Just keep it and enjoy it. You won't regret it
Cheers!

The state of the interior leads me to believe it was stored indoors. No UV rays makes a hell of difference! If you can hold on to it, do that. Maybe get new tires, but I would keep 100% as it is, you could even buy the parts it needs to just to have on hand. There is no way this will ever go down in value. There are trucks that are good candidates for full restorations, this one should stay unrestored.

Nice!

Good luck with the rig, it creates a significant dilemma, keep it stored and preserved or just start using it as it were 1999 and used 50k mile 80 series were commonplace.

There are lots of buyers, including me, it allows one to stack 80 series for future use and to ensure you have one around for the next 30 years!!

I pulled off the brush guard, tail light guards and washed. Yes, I was a fool and sprayed off the motor. Now something got wet and it is missing out. I know better than that!
What do you think? On or off with the brush guard and guards?

No guards, for sure. They look kinda cool(or they probably did) but they are known to cause more damage in the event of an accident. I would source new front mud flaps and remove the running boards too, but that is a personal preference.

Looks really good! I am sure it will dry out but going through the fittings on the wiring with a little dialectric grease and even a little vinegar sprayed and scrubbed with a light touch on a small wire brush if they look crusty can get rid of a lot of little gremlins, especially if the truck sat, which it must have with that mileage. Blow them out with air until dry and then smear a little bit of grease on the outside of the male ends of the fittings. Just be careful since it is old wiring and many of the harness parts including the main engine harness are NLA as far as I know.

What a beautiful truck, the two tone and gold emblems (pretty sure i'm the only person in the world who likes the gold emblems).

Funny thing about them. With the brush guard and tail light guards on I did not them. Now that I washed the truck and pulled them off, I actually like the gold emblems now.

What about tires? Any thoughts about what I should put on it? Those Michelin tires are discontinued so I can not go that route. I want to keep it as stock as possible. No BF Goodrich or anything like that. Any ideas or recommendations?

if you want to stay stock then look at the Michelin defender ltx or there's a yokohama geolandar ht in the 275/70r16 size. Michelins will likely be over $200/tire and yokos are less expensive

Michelin Defender LTX M/S is still around, likely the successor to the tires that are on there now.

Defender LTX is modern day successor to Michelin LTX.

Edit; BreckCruiser and D21FJ60 beat me to it!

I think the BFG KO2 33" tires are the best look for a stock truck. Spendy, but nice tires. Lots of other good tires though.

Also get rid of the extra iron left ove under the front that the brush guard was bolted to. Are the front recovery loops still on the front or are those gone?

If it came new with Michelins, I wonder why the tire warranty pamphlet in the pic says Firestone? Just curious.

Good question. The Michelin Warranty booklet is 2 spots besides the Firestone booklet. The Firestone booklet was something he must have picked up when looking at replacing tires back in 2013. That is when he went into a nursing home and this truck sat stored inside since that time. He just passed away at the age of 92 so you can see that he did not drive it that much. Going through the records he even get google maps and hotel information from 2 trips he took in the truck. One to Arkansas and another to Tennessee.
