Hi All,

With all this talk about "Highway" miles from the guys who are looking to buy a used LC, it made we wonder about my driving habits and the impact they have on my LC. I have a 5 mile commute that I drive everyday. I also drive my LC short distances all the time. Am I doing any serous damage? What can I do to avoid doing any damage? What is the big deal about "Highway" miles anyway?

What kind of fluids are you running in the truck? How often do you change said fluids? When changed what is the condition of said fluid? Necessary info for edumacated response.

I use Mobil 1 5-30. I change the oil every 5,000 and top off any fluids. The oil always looks pretty clean when changed. I get my LC serviced following Toyota's service intervals

Is there something else I should be doing?

Repeated short trips constitute severe usage. use that schedule. In cold weather try to take it on a longer drive at least one a week to get everything good and hot. (say 20-30 miles non-stop).

Also on top of what Dan said, you didn't stipulate wether or not you are using synthetic. If not I would switch to synthetic 0w40 or the like.

Ummm, I thought all Mobil 1 was synthetic.

Mobil1 Full Synthetic 10w-30 (7.5Quarts) & Mobil1 Full Synthetic 15w-50(1 Quart) with #90915-2004 original Toyota oil filter every 3000 miles on it.
