After searching, I could only find bits and pieces of conversations about this so I thought I would start a post on what diode to use as I'm guessing others will search for it after putting an AGM in their cruiser. I just put the Slee group 31 tray and the Interstate 31p-AGM7 in it.

I did cheap out and purchase a home built diode booster on Ebay as it was much cheaper than the Australian alternatives. Nevertheless, it boosted the voltage but also illuminated the battery light on the dashboard. Not wanting to see that all of the time, I was curious as to what product others have purchased to accomplish the voltage boost and not have the light illuminate.

On another note, the positive terminal is super tight. I pulled the clip that holds the positive harness and was able to move the harness up a notch or two but still didn't help a ton. I was debating grinding the corner off of the bottom of the extender to give it some slack. Anybody else have that issue?

I have not done this .. but why would you even need a voltage boost? Are you thinking it because it is AGM?

I thought voltage boost is only needed for lithium batteries?

I would personally just extend the cables.

I don't have the diode installed, I use a NOCO Genius battery charger about once a week to top off the batteries.

I went with the Odyssey group 31 AGM in the Slee tray, but I didn't have any issues with the factory leads. Looks like your posts are a litte further away from the edge.

AGM batteries have a different charge profile and require higher voltage to "top off" and get to a float mode. Our alternators drop off voltage via temp compensation into the 13v range and may never really fully charge the battery, resulting in a shortened battery life. As @KLF Posted, you can periodically put an appropriate charger to top off the battery but a voltage booster diode will help.

Your terminals do look a a little closer to the wires...
Maybe the interstate AGM isn't the perfect fit.
