Hi all, being just a step away from purchasing a 1983 BJ45 lwb (troop carrier), having collected all possible and available information from thousands sources. Never ever restored a car, but enthusiastic enough to start now. Would love to know the opinions of all of you, experienced guys, if the attached pictures show a frame in a reasonable condition or a hopeless one, as they show the vehicle which I believe will be mine soon...

Those are mere flesh wounds. All joking aside, it is always good to actually poke around to see if anything is hiding behind the paint/grease on the underside. At least there is not a fresh coat of black paint hiding anything. How does the body look? Was this near the beach, or coastline?

The vehicle is parked 1000km away from my place, so I have to judge the condition only by the pics. Yes, it spent all its life on an island, not too small though, but still close to a coastline. Good thing is that there is little chance of salty roads, as there is rarely snow in winter. The body looks OK according to the pics:
