Pretreating clothes with insect repellant today. Then sealing them up to be waterproof. The WCW is in good shape and will be ready to depart on Saturday from Sacramento. Bill is caravanning with Ryan, whom some of you met at Roundup this year. He was the one dragging around a white pickup with a what FJCruiser. Kevin is still planning on making it as well but will be a couple of days behind given his truck still needs an engine, axles, and bumpers.

Insects really weren't so bad last two trips but this is a little later in the year so ... Fingers crossed

Dad & Frank are in Fargo. Shows they will be at the Canadian border about 12 - 12:30. The plan is to try to get to Saskatoon tonight.

4 lane all the way to Edmonton. From Edmonton to Dawson Creek is mostly four lane, not all of it. After Dawson creek it goes downhill.....drastically!

I was curious about the road conditions up there, so I Google Street View'd the area north and west of Dawson's Creek. It really looks pretty good. Granted, it's not 4-lane, but everything I saw (following @wct49's route map earlier in this thread) was paved and in good shape.

That's some awesome country up there!

My buddy from Atlanta (he lives in Chile, SA now) did this trip a few years ago. His blog site no longer exists though.

He said the big rig trucks up there on the Dalton Hwy slow down for no one. If he saw one coming up behind him, he'd just pull off and let them by.
Interesting. I have a friend who did the same thing on a KTM 990 (not for charity - just for adventure), and he says much the same about the truckers. Evidently, they DO own the road! Peenie Wallie: July 2014 Archives

When they are in Saskatoon, they should stop at the 7x series mecca in North America at Ens Industrial Toyota.

:)
