This has not exactly been a secret, but it has been played pretty lose to the vest. We had not planned on hosting a Trek this year, but I recently got a call from some of our friends in the '48. Some of the guys who have been up for the Alaska Cruiser Trek in the past were making plans on coming up to Alaska one more time and asked if we would be willing to hit the trails with them again. Of course we were! And if you have guys bringing their Cruisers up from the '48 to hit the trails with us... Then it must be a Cruiser Trek. ;)

As I mentioned above, we were not planning on doing this so we have not been promoting it or sending out information/application packets. This time around we were approached by a a group who had already started making their plans. Other than a couple of specific invitations we were full up from day one.

And we are treating the Trek a little different this time. A smaller group of guys who have all been on Alaska Trails together before and who are all bringing trailered trail rigs rather than rigs that they will be driving up the highway and back. In theory this will let us push a little harder and tackle tougher terrain and trails than we have in the past. Everyone has been warned that they might have to work hard this time around. If all goes well we will finally make a connection we have been chasing for years and reopen a route that has been abandoned except for snowmachines for about 100 years. That and add a couple more glaciers to our "been there done that" list. ;)

I'm not sure how much traffic this thread is going to generate but we decided to start it because we have had a few folks find out about what we are up to and want "watch" so to speak on a Facebook group page that we started. But that page is really intended for private stiff between us... logistics, schedules, who is gonna meet where and when as they convoy up the highways and that kinda stuff.

A couple of the guys have some cool builds going for rigs they are gonna bring and a couple have been getting questions about what their experiences in previous ACTs have taught them to bring for a trip up this way. So with that in mind here is the start of the thread and we'll see where it goes.
