I’m offering up my 1976 FJ40. It is a good running and dependable rig. I hate to see it go but I’ve recently purchased an FJ45 and I can’t afford to build them both. Most of my efforts have been put into building the drive train. The plan was to save the body work for last, so it does not look as good as it runs. With the 5 speed and stock 2F it runs down the highway at 70 turning 2700 RPM’s. I have installed J**P seats, they ride good but I have purchased stock seats that need to be rebuilt. It also has a pair of stock jump seats that need to be rebuilt. (When I list something as new that means I bought it new but it could be as old as 2-3 years, except for the tires) I have many more pictures that I will be happy to send via email. The price is $14,500.00. Best way to contact me is by email at michaelbb7@juno.com

The good:

A new from Toyota H55 5 speed transmission

Rebuilt 87’ FJ60 split case

Rebuilt 87’ FJ60 rear axle w/ E-brake

Webber carb 36/36

Saginaw power steering

87’ FJ60 starter (high torque)

TPI suspension w/ 4” of lift, greasable pins and anti-inversion shackles

New brake booster and master cylinder (not stock/original)

New clutch master and slave cylinder

Machined and Powder coated GM rally rims

New BFG 33x12.50 all terrains

I used the 87’ FJ60 transmission tunnel access cover

New shoulder harnesses in front and new lap belts in back

The bad:

The tub has a minimal amount of rust in it, but it does have some rust

The doors also have some rust in them

All stock seats need to be rebuilt

There is rust under the gas tank (I have a donor patch panel)

The ugly:

The paint is awful (don’t let the pictures fool you)! A PO had someone paint it with a base coat/clear coat system. Apparently they did not know what they were doing because the clear is peeling off all over more than any where else.

The front fenders, aprons and hood need to be replaced. I have a set of aprons

Extras:

Bikini top

Gas tank well donor patch panel (this means it was cut from an original truck so the metal gauge is correct)

Patch panel for drivers side rocker (both the inner and outer)

Warn 8200 winch that needs to be rebuilt

Good replacements for front seat bottoms
