Hey Beno, thanks for responding. I have no data plate, unfortunately. The truck is in Costa Rica.

Go to the right hand side front fender and on the frame there should be a plate with a stamped BJ70HV-XXxxxx kinda deal.
Get that info and report back for the next step

Wow... The data plate was on the firewall covered in several coats of black paint. Costa Rica is not known for its quality mechanics and bodywork.

After some sanding and solvents the plate revealed:

PZJ70LV-MR
1PZ 3470
PZJ70-0006039
183 LA10
R151F K082
A11

There is also a secondary spot in your wheel well on the frame (right hand side front wheel well)
Should have the corresponding number

Other pre 99 cruiser hubs should work
You can use the PZJ70-0006039 number and put it into toyodiy.com and get more info on it

I am guessing that the Aisin hubs are the 30 spline as opposed to the 26 spline for an IFS Toyota? Man, I have never had a harder time trying to spend a couple of hundred bucks.

Thanks for all of the help.

If you use these" AVM 463 " Hubs you won't need spacer rings. They bolt straight on to a PZJ 70.

I have those AVM's on my Troopy. I can confirm they bolt straight up and so far so good. Built well and the engagement is smooth.
They are in the same boat as the Warn hubs on a Cruiser though.....cool, but they should have Aisin hubs. I'll be sourcing some at some point.

I just ordered a couple of AISIN FHT002's from Canada, hopefully they fit. Despite all of the information in this thread I am still unsure as the Aisin chart really doesn't have anything at all from 1993 but a search shows that Aisin 43530 (from Toyota DIY) is FHT002. Seriously confusing as hell.

When I google these hubs, they don't say they are a replacement for the PZJ70 that were fitted with electric hubs. Chances are you will still have to fit a 14mm spacer. = extra $$$. The AVM 463 will bolt straight on without the need for the spacer.

I don't have electric hubs... I didn't know 70 series Cruisers even had electric hubs?

Strangely I need to reorder these because Wrench Monkey in Canada flagged it as potential fraud. They need to lay off the Maple Syrup and Molson.

43530 is the Toyota prefix number for a 10 digit Toyota part number. 43530 is the manual hub assy PNC (part name code).

The definitive way to figure out what you need and not waste time buying the wrong things:

1. Remove birfield and measure length (from bell to the top on a flat surface)
2. Count splines on end of birfield (should be 30)
3. Look at the hub assy itself (not the manual part but the part it bolts to with the studs): if it is circular, you will use the earlier manual hub iteration. If it is scalloped and the gasket for it (43422-60060) is scalloped, you have the late manual hub: 43530-60042

Once you have done this you can know for sure what you need. PZJ could go either way with the earlier 7x manual hub or with the later 7x manual hub. But based on your frame number, I am going to surmise that it is 43530-60042 which supersedes from a -60040 to a -60041 and then finally to a -60042).

An FHT002 should be the correct one.

AVM hubs are garbage. Period.

Looking at the dash are there Hub Lock & H4 buttons ?. If so then it came out with electric hubs, and provided that some one has not changed the main hubs, these will be shorter by 14mm.

There are no Hub Lock & H4 buttons on the dash. fortunately. I have had the car for 5 years and to the best of my knowledge the Aisin's that I am replacing are the stock hubs.

I am replacing them with more Aisin hubs as the AVM hubs seem a bit dodgy.

Once again, thanks so much for all of the guidance. This forum is a lifeline.
