Quick update (@poppe you might be interested)
Finally got around to securing the kitchen cover for those times when the kids come camping with us.
So normally, it's just me and my girl. In that case, we leave the kitchen cover at home, run the fridge in the kitchen area, and sleep in the RTT.
When the kids come, we also bring the fridge, but need the kitchen cover to stay secure during the trip then easily be converted to a bed platform for sleeping.
Ended up going a very simple route instead of adding more hinges:
I mounted a QuickFist strap to the front and back of the kitchen cover so it can be loaded in and strapped down on top of the drawer side. Really simple and took about 30 minutes to do.
Here's a shot from the back seat showing the second strap:
Here I have the kitchen cover removed and you can see the tee-nuts holding the strap under the drawer cover. When the kitchen cover isn't there, I just tuck that strap into the drawer.
Here's some in -process shots. Drilled out a thin layer of the plywood, then chiseled it off:
Then added tee-nuts underneath and screwed the quickfist straps down:
It rattled a bit so I cut some strips of foam and hunted down each rattle. Now it's as quiet as if it wasn't there! And hardly takes up any room!

One request that customers repeatedly bring to us is simple, yet somewhat tricky to answer: How can I sleep two people inside the vehicle and have a fridge? With a traditional fridge the answer is a somewhat unsatisfying 'there's not enough room'. We needed to address this shortcoming so we developed a sliding tray designed specifically to accommodate the Dometic CD30 drawer-style fridge.
This set up allows 30 liters (31 quarts) of refrigerated space while retaining a completely flat platform on top. We have incorporated a space for a battery/power station, allowing the space of one drawer to completely house all of your fridge needs. We have the entire tray slide out of the vehicle, allowing the fridge itself to become a work surface. The fridge itself can also be accessed by itself while keeping the tray retracted. In addition to that, we can equip an additional slide out table as well, turning the simple CD30 Drawer fridge into a full workstation. The front-access wing still retains its function, so you can utilize the space under the platform for storing items.
We have found this size to be more than adequate for trips lasting a few days for multiple people. This provides a great balance between useable platform space and fridge capacity. This system replaces a standard drawer in an SS1, meaning you can bolt this right into your existing slides, and you can swap between a drawer or fridge as your trip demands. Of course this can also be spec'd into new systems as well. Pricing will be the same as our current drawers, meaning it's truly up to you to decide if a drawer or a fridge is more valuable for your needs.

I've been craving something like this for a while! Now it's time to shake the piggy bank and see what comes out. We found some coolers that fit under the platform but this would be such a step up.
suppose I could google it but meh...Does this Dometic unit keep stuff frozen as well or just refrigerated ?

Specs state down to -2C, but I wouldn't put anything that must stay frozen in there. Very cold? Sure. Frozen? Juuuuust barely under ideal conditions. They market it as a fridge, not freezer.
I'm not aware of a freezer that small, but we'd love to find one!
Roger that, I'm sure some frozen steaks or ground beef would survive a few days, no different than in the fridge at home.
Ugh, now the internal debate between cargo space VS my fridge dreams begin. The piggy bank was covered in dust when I checked on it so I'll have to wait it out either way =]
Digging the jackery idea. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with for a battery setup too. Turned out great.

There's an Engel Drawer fridge (SB30) that is rated down to 18 degrees Fahrenheit (-8C). If you want cheap, then Alpicool also offers one that freezes.

Most other metal racks in this industry are made from steel and are thin, heavy and sharp edged. We make our enclosure with 3/16" 6061 aluminum and chamfer/bevel every single edge so that everything you touch is soft and rounded. This means your gear and fingers will not be snagged, frayed, scratched, dinged or marred by our rack. Since we machine this aluminum and do not bend it, we can use stronger 6061 aluminum. It's light, strong and soft to the touch.
The rack includes an adjustable ceiling shelf for additional, load bearing storage. The shelf can be setup with or without front and back walls, and is adjustable in height to best accommodate your fridge size.

Hello! Just realized it has been a VERY long time since we have updated this forum! We just recently uploaded an overview video on our 100 Series LC Drawer/sleeping platform system. Check it out to get the latest and greatest offering from Air Down Gear Up
Bought my first LC a few months ago and feel like I missed out because the first post in this thread is exactly what I am looking for. Just a simple lightweight platform to sleep on and store things under that is also easy to remove. Seems like you guys do not offer anything like that anymore - what are the odds you sell those original design files and measurements? Would it even be feasible to DIY something like that?
Don't underestimate your skills. Grab your tape measurer and get to work. It's not that hard; you would be proud of your work and saving a ton of $$. Extruded aluminum isn't that expensive.

Maybe one could DIY. I love those kinds of projects. I have to say, this is a legit long-time vendor from Mud way back, and I have a ton of respect for his product. (Why, you may well ask? Because years ago I put one of his early platform iterations into my LX, used some Home Depot bins for drawers that cleared by maybe a 1/2"... I beat the heck out of this platform and it still works great).
Tempted to bite on this improved version, except the old one still works.
