I have search but can find it. Somewhere I have seen a thread on using co2 air instead of a compressor to activate the lockers. Anyone have any experience with this or a link to the install

as long as you have a good press regulator you install it just like normal.

Sucks when you run out of C02 tho ;)

Isnt there a special board to run the air supply to?

oh, and you can build your own co2 set up with a co2 tank, a oxygen regualtor, adaptor, and a guage for cheap!!! I made mine for about $40!!!

I already have the co2 set up with spare bottles. Not worried about running out. i takes very little air to run the locker.

Special Board???

It is more an issue with PSI than anything else..

Mace,

I dont have the locker in my possesion yet. I won it at the LSCR. I dont know what comes with it. Is it just the locker or does it have the switch and lines? Is that a seperate kit. I was assuming that the locker feed to a relay board that led to an air supply. The switch would allow air to flow to the locker. The compressor supplies air or in my case the co2. Is this correct.

yep, You have a line going from your air source to a electric solenoid (there are other options of course) That solenoid is controled by the ARB switch. when you flip the switch the solenoid opens and engages the locker.

The solenoid is not air specific AFAIK.

Is that solenoid a seperate purchase or is it included.

Depends on the package. you can get everythign together or seperately...

Donno if it is or not. But hell, a free ARB alone is a great deal :)

Intrigued much, how for 40 bux ?!

I think it would be cool to hook up an ARB to work hydraulically. I have not seen it done but I bet is is workable.

Dynosoar:zilla:

why would it be better than air?

As it stands, if you blow a line, all that it does is leak air..

you can get the mechanical air switch from a Mud vendor

ARB Air Switch

blah blah not associated etc.

you need to limit your CO2 pressure to within the ARB accepted level, WIIRC, is 80 PSI. I ran this setup for a few years before switching to a compressor/tank, and mechanical switches.

if you get the one noted above, it needs a metal filter on the discharge. just use 1/4 poly line if you want, from the tank to the switch and then towards your ARB. at that point you need to convert to the ARB line. I think REID Supply has all of the right fittings.

good luck

Chris
