Ok I’m hoping someone can help me here.

I have DeltaVS rear spring retainers installed on my 80 series along with the now discontinued (NLA) Wit’s End Landing Pad set. Looking back at the website description, this combo of products should work with the Air Lift 1000 bags. HOWEVER, now that I’m reading through this thread, I’m scratching my head as to how this is all going to work.

It sounds like everyone is installing these airbags with the air fitting pointing down and enlarging the hole in the spring perch. Installing the delta spring retainer required you to occupy that hole. So how does this even work? I figured I’d ask here before bothering Delta via email. @Delta VS

Looks like you'll have to choose one or the other. I run the bags full time but only inflate when I have my motorcycle hitch carrier installed and the bike loaded up, running around 550+ tongue weight.

Honestly, I don't really like the bags all that much as I have had constant problems with the bags shifting and the inflator tip/nozzle rubbing or jamming up in the perch. I have enlarged the perch hole 3 times and even shifted it with the movement of the bags. Also, with any articulation the bags will move upward with the springs and can pinch the tips when settling back down on the perch. Some have great success with the bags and others so so. I lost all 30 psi on one bag while hauling my bike on the back while the other bag kept its pressure causing some seriously ill handling while cruising thru the Colorado mountain passes. Not fun!

I think some stiffer and /or adjustable/progressive hydraulic bump stops would be a better alternative. With some tweaking that set-up in the pics above shows to have some real potential to replace an air bag set-up.

Post game analysis:

1. Inflated to 25 PSI and hit the FSRs over here this weekend loaded down. Loved the performance improvements, rear sag/soft back end is gone. So - feels like a win. Thanks again to everyone who contributed to this string, and the crunch time answers. The additional 4-5 inches that the 4x lumber added to the jack stands gave me the missing droop to easily fully articulate the springs.

2. While articulated - I noticed a small leak coming from this line. Seems like the leak stopped, but makes me nervous. Anybody know what that line is, and what I should do to double check/make sure its good to go? See pic below.

That line is for ABS/wheel speed sensor so it’s not coming from there. Wipe the area an keep an eye on it. The rear AC line is right above this area.
