Hello everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations on shops who know and work on AHC systems. Mine is running fine, and I don't want to get rid of it. But I do want to try to get the most out of it both in longevity and performance.

Anyone have a recommendations either front range or western slope?

Let me know.

I'd recommend doing it yourself. It's not rocket surgery ;)
Its a matter of time right now, and unfortunately want. Im booked out and just don't have time ot energy to do trial and error.

I know it's not overly complicated. Im hopefully there is someone or shop out there that enjoys tinkering with ACH
 
Not sure how far is @suprarx7nut is from you. He is in CO and he knows a ton abt AHC and I am pretty sure he has a shop!
 
Maybe tell us a little bit more about what you would like done for the preventive maintenance. Truly, a flush doesn’t even take an hour, and the globes are the same if you don’t have a rusty truck. Cost savings will be tremendous as well. How many graduations does the fluid move in the AHC tank?
 
If you just want to flush the system, it will take longer to drive to the shop and pick it back up than to complete the entire process in your driveway.

I'd love to help, but won't be able to fit anything AHC related into my schedule for... months? years? Who knows, lol.

@THALEY I wouldn't do much of anything beyond a flush proactively. You're smart for hunting for somebody that can work on it, though! The system is easy to maintain, as long as you have someone that knows the system.
 
There are a couple of threads to read through and a couple of youtube videos to watch and you'll probably know more than most of the people at whatever shop you take it to. It's really not that hard of a system to figure out. Honestly the hardest part is getting techstream to work, which you don't even need in order to do a fluid flush and check the gradients on the reservoir.

I want to discuss the options of bypassing some of the factory settings. I have seen where guys will change the sensor height, and swap the ride heights around. Low mode is useful for me to get into garages, but I think I am leaving a few inches on the table so to speak.

Nothing earth shattering that I am wanting to do. I just want to get it in the hands of someone who knows these systems inside and out. I have newer globes and did a flush a few years back. I am good there. But I want to make sure the rest stays in proper working order.

I live in Centennial and the ADGU shop is currently up north in Frederick.

As someone that knows a little bit about AHC, I would very strongly encourage you to leave it 100% alone. You can swap springs in the rear (and in the front if you add a steel bumper and winch maybe), and you can adjust the torsion bar for pressure variation. That's all fine. Beyond that though, don't mess with the "always high" or sensor lifts. The 2" lift from factory AHC alongside 33-34" tires (no cutting required) will get you into the category of "hard" trails just fine.

With AHC, you hit diminishing returns almost immediately IMO as far as effort to benefit. If you can wrench on it yourself, that's 100% fine. If you're hunting around for expertise, it's a recipe for future frustration.

It's a fantastically capable system in factory form. Until you have full armor, big tires, wheels with a 25-40 offset (vs the factory 60), don't worry about tweaking AHC.
 
Agreed, as a guy who wheels with AHC on 33’s I think it’s much more the driver than the system capabilities. Add some lockers and you’ll be great!

I see how armor would impact AHC by necessitating stiffer springs and torsion bar to keep pressures in check but out of curiosity what does the wheel offset (and to an extent the unsprung weight of larger tires) have to do with AHC setup? I’m a ways off of doing bigger tires but am thinking ahead to other stuff it might entail. Thanks!

Pretty sure OP is just looking for someone who can do a fluid flush & health check with Techstream, not modifying or replacing.

Instead of doing a lift, max out tire size first. Wheel offset affects how big you can go before you need to start cutting metal.
 
Give I think J1000, or something like that, a try. He also works on 100/LX470s.
