If you’ve decided to remove AHC from your LX (or late LC), you can easily repurpose the AHC pump motor circuit into a fused 50A switched power source.

At this point you’ve likely unplugged the the 3 harness plugs from the AHC ECU, located just above OBD port at driver footwell. In order to switch on the AHC relay (in fuse box) with the ignition, you need to cut 2 wires from the ECU harnesses and connect together.

The green-yellow wire goes to the relay coil and energizes the relay switch. It’s located in the large 26-pin connector.

The black-yellow wire is switched power to the ECU. It’s located in the 12-pin connector.

Locate both of these wires and cut at the plugs. Connect both wires together and insulate.

Now, when the ignition is ON the AHC relay will energize and the plug formerly going to the AHC pump motor will have power. It’s fairly heavy gauge (12g???) wire and protected by a 50A fusible link in fuse box. I used for a small AC inverter.

Hey,

I have found exact same setup shown on pictures on my vehicle, and I have AHC still on it and also have problems with it, codes 31,32,33,34 and 36.

why somebody would like to apply this on a car with AHC working?

This is recommended only for vehicles with the AHC removed.

I just had this idea today so I can stop using split fuses in my kick panel fuse box. This is super clutch, thank you!! My truck didn't come with AHC so I will need to source a relay. Do you know the relay part number by chance?
