Anybody running Dexron instead of the ahc fluid?
Pros?
cons?
Just need it to last a few months longer before it goes under the knife to change the suspension out...
Some folks have done it, but I wouldn't.
If you're ditching the system, why change fluid at all? How much do you need to add?
And keep in mind, the AHC components are valuable. Unless you've got a rusted rig, you've probably got $500+ in used parts value that you'd virtually ruin by using non-AHC fluid. Plenty people will buy a used AHC part, but relatively few are going to buy used AHC stuff that's seen non-AHC fluid.
**Adding more direct answer to the question: incorrect fluid could damage seals. Seals in everything. Pump, lines, globes, accumulator, attenuator, reservoir, shocks, actuators, everything.
The pro would be reducing cost, but again you might cost yourself hundreds in an effort to save yourself $25. Use the right fluid.
