Aftermarket springs for 60 with zero lift?

Hello

Is there any aftermarket springs available for the 60 designed for zero lift,
that is standart ride height? I seems that most (or all) brands of springs available
are designed to give some lift to the truck. I ask because I would like to find such
springs for a SOA (Spring over axle) truck. Lift springs on an addition of a SOA
truc gives quite a tall truck, so better if "zero lift" springs are available.
Do you know of any manufacturer having such a springs available?

This is a pretty good question, and I honestly feel there would be something of a market for them.

I would be even happier and more apt to buy them if the first and second leafs were a little thicker and would negate the need to do an add a leaf or damage to the springs and also if the spring pack was an inch or two longer for a better shackle angle allowing a little longer shackle (but still be able to maintain an appropriate angle) and gain some more droop.
 
When I first started looking at leaf springs for my first 60 I ran across this company. I ended up going with an OME lift etc...

But, these guys said it was a factory plus ride at the factory height... Here is their link.. No affiliation to this company, just what I ran across a couple years ago when researching factory replacement leaf springs. I always wondered about the quality, maybe someone here has a better resource. I figured for the price a lift was the way to go.

A jumping off point anyway.. fronts are 5 leaves and rears are 6..

OE springs may be available from Mr. Toyota. Other than that, you'd have to have them custom made or you old ones re-arched.
 
Last I checked, Toyota original replacement springs were $500 EACH x 4= $2,000. Plus bushings, shocks, etc.

The Specter Off Road Grocery Getter springs are probably as close as you're going to get. I have their Comfort Ride Springs and am happy with them.

Has anyone tried the SOR Grocery Getter kit yet? I'm seriously contemplating getting it, but I was wondering if there was any feedback. I've looked around, and priced the OEM springs (not to be confused with the OME lift kit), as well as a custom set of stock leafs from from Alcan. For a stock height, this seems to be the best, if not only answer so far.

I have to agree. I am going to go for this kit unless something changes my mind before the income tax return arrives. Thought about just getting an OME kit and removing a leaf or 2 for less lift but the grocery getter is pretty much that for less $ and less work.
 
As long as the amount of lift you get is acceptable, I don't think you'll be disappointed. SOR tech support is pretty good at answering your questions before you buy.
 
According to Paul at SoR, the grocery getter is a no-go on the BJ60 due to the weight of the 3B. He did suggest that add a leafs could be used up front and also referred me to Man-A-Fre...
 
I got springs from Alcan. They will build you whatever you want for height and stiffness. I got a 1" lift with stock in the front and 300lbs over in the rear.

They were spot-on, although in hindsight I should not have gone so heavy in the rear. Tell them exactly what you will need, don't 'over-estimate".

Well, the SOR Grocery Getter kit is on the way. :) I also spoke to Paul at Specter, he said that there may be some tweaking needed once everything is installed, but I'm hoping that it should be fairly straightforward. My rig is a restored hangar queen, and I don't carry very much, other than a box of light recovery gear and some fluids, as well as a 60 lb. sandbag between the wheel wells in the winter time. I'm hoping that it's a close match for a stock replacement.

Looks just right-maybe a bit higher than stock. 31" tires? The butt sag is definitely gone. How do they ride, compared to stock? On another subject, what happened to the 100 in your sig?

Rig looks great. Your anti-inversions shackles are installed incorrectly though. The pin should be inside and closest to the frame.

Ya, it does look like it might be a bit higher than stock, I'm happy with it. The snow tires are LT 245/75 16, so close enough to 31". I run 31" x 15 in the summer.
The 100 was totaled, see the pic. Snow storm, an 18 yr. old girl came into my lane at highway speeds = dead rig. It probably saved my life.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice that! I was too excited to get out and stretch the new legs. The installation shop specializes in springs and lift kits, I thought they would know what they were doing. They are not going to be happy about that tomorrow when I bring it back. Thanks for pointing it out.

At least you don't have to work on those shackles yourself hehe :)
