Has anyone made up a bracket and installed aftermarket mudflaps on their 60?
I think I might make a bracket to bolt to the bodymount behind the rear tire so that I can put on some big flaps. Seems to me the stock ones cause rust on the body.
Pictures would be great!

this is my old taco, I welded rod to the frame, took a pipe with ID matching the rod, welded a tab the length of the rod and bolted my new flaps to it. Drilled the assembly and stuck a cotter pin through it so it's detachable.

So it looks like I am going to use some aftermarket flaps and use the existing holes with stainless screws.
Also need to use a spacer for one of the holes (have 2 ideas for this). Will post pics when I finally get to it.

First version. Grabbed some trucker mud flaps from the truck stop and found tubing in my scrap pile. Made them removable for wheeling purposes. In hindsight these were a little too close to the tires.

2nd version

I moved the mount back because I put in rear quarter sliders and needed that spot to mount the slider tie-in, plus I had to moved them down under the slider.

Basically mine is just two pieces of flat bar, one horizontal with the mouting holes, the other vertical that is welded onto the bracket on the frame for the body mount. I run genuine Peterbilt flaps.

Thanks guys! I had flaps on my 60 that had the quarters cut off, but with the new rust free 60 from Cali I got I am trying to make it look as stock as possible this time. Hey Spence what did you use for the rear tire carrier hinge btw?
