About 45 from minutes from home (when there's no traffic), I noticed a wildfire starting on the east side of the Bradshaws. Probably caused by lightning from the incoming storm. Good thing the storm brought rain and plenty of it. It appeared to put the fire out. One of the crazier things I have ever seen.

On top of all this, once I rolled into the valley it's like 110. Driving the wagon is like an oven on wheels. I get home only to discover my AC on my house crapped out. Since I was nicely toasted from the drive, the hot house didn't seem that bad.....lol

Luckily a I have a long time friend who is a HVAC guy. He was able to patched it up and get it going.:smokin:

Glad to hear your AC is up. We saw that fire as well on the way home West of Sunset Pt area. Must have burned itself out, have not heard anything else about it. Darlene took pics as well. Sorry to hear the LV didnt run well. Ideas on that?

Stunning country up there! Was the overlook pic taken near FR300?

Pretty sure the rain put the fire out.

Yes, some of the pix are off the 300 road

...beautiful pictures , Jack. *
Love the Arizona landscape brings back a lot of memories.
Cheers
* ... tell your friend his Wagoneer is a nice can too :)

Took the wagon on a roughly 250 mile trip thru Jerome and up to 7200 ft to camp. Great trip as always.
... and we took the Chrysler convertible on a trip to Jerome 1998 ... great trip as always.
Was the time when you used printed road maps.

Thanks Mr G for posting those pix from 1998. Cool to see what it looked like back then.

Well the wagon ran like crap. It had intermittent power loss issues. Could only do like 40 on the big climbs. I still made it the home though. More on the issues later.

The lake and forest was great. Temps were like perfect and we even got a nice storm to cool off the afternoon. Took the scenic route home and got some more storm action, even some hail.

Enjoy some pix

Thank you for the motivation to get up to Blue Ridge. It’s been too long since I’ve been there, I brought the canoe and paddle about 2 miles in and set up camp. No fish to speak of and it was a little warm during the days but the evenings were absolutely gorgeous
