Good to hear other people like this stuff. It was a copper mine. I like finding background info on these places too. I found this site to be a great resource:

here is the mine pictured:

After a few years my Specter door panels were looking rough. The adhesive gave up the ghost. I am pretty sure the AZ heat and the fact my LV sits outside uncovered didn't help.

Easy fix. Staples. I bought the shortest ones I could find.......1/4. Then went to town. Much better now.

This weekends edition of Wagon Adventures, brings us to Copperopolis and the Lehman Mill. Great trip through the beautiful Arizona back country. Saw a bunch of critters too.

First critter was this Gila Monster. Then we found this newer 4Runner that rolled off the road and another car not too far from it.

At Copperopolis (old mining camp), we found the mine, several old foundations and lots of hand stacked stone walls.

Next was Lehman mill. The road was very narrow in spots, off camber, with lots of wash outs. The last bit of that road was super overgrown too, but we made it.

Lehman Mill. The resident rattle snake was not happy to have visitors (sorry no pic). He was a big one all coiled, rattling, and ready to jump. Luckily, he slithered away.

That trip looks really cool. Seeing that Gila Monster would have made my day all by itself. Thanks for sharing.

Great as always. From that one photo it appears proof that the Peanuts gang was not a modern creation, but rather copied from ancient indigenous petroglyphs from thousands of years ago ! And from the looks of the length and number of rattles, that big boy was an old-timer and successful hunter. I had a similar one 4 months ago resting under a tree on the north end of my property--not a welcome resident but keeps the field mice population down and on edge.

Thanks for sharing your adventures with your LV. I think a number of us get a vicarious kick from taking a day trip with you guys.

This weekends wagon adventure takes us in search of the Post Master Mine and some other cool stuff in the area.

The mines were nothing but tailing piles, collapsed tunnels, and an old shed (also collapsed).

Next we stopped at the Poland Walker Tunnel. It's an old mine they tunneled though and used to transport ore from the mines to the smelter over in Walker. Over 8000 feet long.

Lastly we explored a new route to the backside of an old homestead and looked at a cabin we missed on a previous trip. Did not get too close as this is private property.

We have been having better than normal weather lately and this just added to a great day trip.

No adventures this weekend. Holiday weekends turn the Interstate into a parking lot.

Cleaning up the rear interior so I can seam seal and lay down some lizard skin heat and sound killer. Many miles of dust had to be wash out first.
