This may help you out. I highlighted the tabs in the picture, from a AFM that has had the innards pulled out... They are supposed to be flat, with some sort of spot-weld attaching them to the board.

So, what does that extra metal tab do anyway? Since the other part that those tabs attatch to is spot welded to the board, will it make a difference?

The tabs that you ripped off are the ones that are spot-welded to the board.

Post a pic or two of what you have done so far.

I dont have a picture at the moment, but, the tabs I ripped off were the ones that were spot welded to the board. I guess they were there to give the little prong better contact on the board.

So, I tried to resolder them down to the board. I think I did it. They all look firm and in place. The problem though is that the cell code 24 is still on. I tried pulling the EFI fuse to clear it but no luck. Is there another fuse to pull to clear the code.........or say, try to clear the code?

UPDATE******

I just drove the beast and holy crap........My dash has one last light on now!:clap:

It was strange, the light went off, went back on and then, went out. This is the first time the light has been off in over two years!! I am stoked!

I will check to see if there are any other codes in the system but hell, I am just please to not have a christmas tree dash anylonger.....now If I could just get the ABS light off!:bang:

Cheers,
Chans

So you got rid of the CEL? That's awesome!

I'd take it easy for the next few days to make sure the truck is running right.

Well, I jumped the gun a bit. The light seems to just come and go when it wants. I ran the codes and yes, the code 24 is still in there. :crybaby:

On the flip side, at least the light doesnt stay on all the time. This alone makes me want to celebrate  oh wait, I will have one of those anyway.

I will take it easy though for the next few days and just drive locally in the beast. I dont want to get stranded.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. That'll wipe the ECU clean of everything.
