So, my Trollhole is working _almost_ perfectly, but I'm getting hesitation on acceleration (mostly from idle), and slightly sluggish acceleration (most noticeable cold; I'd kind of describe it as a 'flat spot' in the 2200-2700 rpm range). On more gentle acceleration, it does fine, and it is putting out a reasonable amount of power (I had no trouble getting up to 60 for the freeway).

I adjusted the accelerator pump linkage, which seemed to help, but it's still a little balky, which is not fun on seattle hills. As well, the fuel level in the sight glass is slightly below the bottom of the 'normal' range.

So, it seems like I should adjust the float to run a little higher, right?

If that's the case, I'm wondering if there are any tricks to minimize the amount of work, like to keep from ruining the airhorn gasket etc. (I do have a brand new 2F rebuild kit handy, though, from before I got the Trollhole).

Thanks!

How long have you had it. I use a long thin razor knife to separate the gasket. The kind that you can snap the blade ends off. If possible you want to take it off on the bottom side then the top side once you have it apart. Clean clean clean everything. It's not hard. My carbs are really simple on the inside. Let me know if you have any issues or need parts. Use a good phillips screw driver. One that seats all the way in the phillips heads. If not you can strip the heads. Use pressure when turning.

Think I am having similar problems but I am getting it really bad like stalling. Looking at the sight glass and I can see fuel but it is not in the center. I have only had the carb a couple of months and it has worked fine. Now I need to adjust the float or so I think. Any advice?

I'm thinking the float valve is clogged.
