I just noticed they started selling them, with the premise that you could rotate them to make them work with your projector. Has anybody tried them in their LX?

Thanks! I already read that one. Everybody seemed to ignore the question at hand, so I figured I’d put it right in the title.

Lol I guess I’m the only one who questions the already existing methods of improving headlights that cost hundreds of dollars plus labor? Seems like nobody took the plunge on these $30 adjustable LEDs yet

I want to do the Morimoto upgrade, but have other projects in line ahead of it. If you try the headlights, post back here the results good or bad would you? I'd like a decent upgrade to hold me over until I do the real swap because my current output is pretty disappointing.

I just got these recently . Don’t know what you mean by adjustable, but for 25-30$ I think it’s a definite upgrade over stock. Looks nice with the pfran marker lights I put in from his kit as well. And they are the easiest plug and play

I think adjustable means you can rotate them so that they work with the projector to create a better beam shape and angle. Do yours adjust at all?

Any install pics? Or how you wired them? That thread mentioned something about going a hint darker if you see rain. We get a lot of rain in Florida. What’s the recommendation?

Link?

Tried LEDs and a Morimoto kit in my stock LX projectors. Neither would focus properly, halogens are better.

I now have four Rigid 3x3 flood lights, two angled outward (set in to the Dissent offroad bumper) and two forward. Wired both to fog light circuit. Excellent light when there isn't oncoming traffic. The stock projectors are a lost cause.

So I have the brackets for the Morimoto mini hid retrofit install but thought I’d give these “adjustable” leds a try before I went and opened up the headlights. Installation was easy, I just need to buy dust covers to seal up the opening. As far as adjustable, you really can’t rotate them much to adjust the beam so I don’t understand what they mean by adjustable. The h1 clips right into the housing and they say face the wires down so you can’t really rotate it once it’s clipped in. I drove around with a regular halogen on the right side and the led on the left side. IMHO, I really think the only difference I noticed was the color. Up close on objects, the led’s are very bright and have a nice color to it but on the road, the reach of the light is almost the same as the halogens. I really couldn’t tell a difference. I’ve added some pictures I took at night with my iPhone 8, unaltered. The top is led/halogen and the bottom pic is with all leds in.

So basically no real improvement?

That's sad. Are the fog lights any easier to upgrade? Maybe we can compensate for s***ty lowbeams but upgrade the fogs with some LEDS? How about upgrading the reverse white lights?

I have tried an inexpensive 35W HID conversion kit. The light out is slightly better but it is scattered all over the place. And all the light seems to disappear at the first hint of rain or snow.
Whoever decided at Toyota that those squirrel finders are a good idea, is probably a moron. I am saving my pennies for a real HID retrofit but until then the standard lights are all I got.

Are there any aftermarket lights (like Hella round lights) that are DOT approved for on road use? Perhaps that would be an inexpensive way to upgrade lights?

Those inexpensive HID kits use cheaply made ballasts that dont put out anywhere near a true 35w.

Hella, Rigid and KC all make fog and driving LED auxiliary lights that are DOT approved for on road use.

View attachment 1889865 View attachment 1889864 It needs no instructions clips in like a bulb. Ready to go. No good pics

The LC does not have a projector so you might get better results in a reflector like the LC then the LX projector. There are adjustable LED's that allow you to clock the rotation for improved output. I've seen some great output shots from the Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0 in a reflector not a projector.
