1991 FJ80 with about 214K miles, 3FE engine, in no small part by the generosity and graciousness of the folks here it's almost road ready. After I get just a few more mechanical problems fixed, the next project is to get more cool air to the back of the vehicle.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be installing a dual battery setup with a deep-cycle battery on an isolator and a fairly robust inverter.
But for the specifics of how to cool the back of an FJ80, I haven't a clue yet.
The goal is to reliably keep the interior temperature under 80 degrees in direct sun.
Anyone got any experience with this?

Well, I'm sure you could adapt a 100 series rear ac unit or a first gen sequoia unit.

Cool -- I did not know there even was such a thing.

Looking into it now.

Thanks!
Yep, sequoia had it in the passenger rear quarter panel I believe the 100 did as well.

I've got factory rear AC in my 80s, retrofitting it into another 80 would not be easy. The mounts for the roof duct would be missing and the rear quarter plastic interior panel is different. Some custom AC line work would be needed as well.
