The 8 small blubs are T4 NEO Wedge the 2 large bulbs are T5 NEO Wedge. Didn't have time to snap pictures before work, will get some up tomorrow. Also I did have to file a little material off the T5 bulb mounting tabs to make them fit perfectly.

Of the 8 smaller/T4 bulbs:
1 is for the hazard
1 is for the center diff lock button
1 is for the antenna up/down button
5 for the climate control knobs

I think the two T5 bulbs are for the clock/temp display

The rest of the buttons in that center dash section are surface mounted LED, which could be changed but I'm not going to bother with that.

Thanks for the info, hope that it isn't hard to get into. I'm thinking of going red. I guess LED since thats what you went with instead of incandescent. Then again I may go factory for now and switch to red later. Especially since factory radio is still green.

So the original LEDS I got from VLEDs were no good, some would blink randomly and I really didn't like the output of light. I went with the following from superbrightleds and the results are much better. I also put piece of folded up wax paper behind the clock to dim it down and spread the light more evenly. I really like the results:

CK, it looks awesome! you lost me a bit here, can you recap what you bought and which website?

I'm changing my instrument panel this week, but I like the results of this and will likely do this next..

Need to confirm, thanks CK! Nice idea with the blue, I like that quite a bit..

CK, thank you very much... I'm going to order tonight..much appreciated, amigo..

BTW, for anyone that uses the SuperBright LED's site, a couple of notes:

-T3,T4, T5 refers to the diameter of the bulb(I think).
-The site layout in the link is archaic and confusing. Advice: scroll down to the matrix and choose by color and size of the bulb and add it to cart. Trying to use the order feature at the top is difficult if you order more than one bulb.

Just ordered my LEDs today, they should hopefully be here by friday and I'll install immediately when I get them. Went with blues just cause I think they look the most subtle without being subtle. I just don't think purple or red would look great in our trucks

Aaaand my hazards won't turn off... :bang: Please help, I can't drive like this...

EDIT: Fixed it, now I'm trying to figure out how to fit the #74 bulbs... also, my 2nd and PWR button had a spill on it and now the contacts aren't good enough to work....

EDIT 2: I broke my ignition bulb in the process of trying to swap it.... How do I pull it out now?

Hey,
first off new here, just bought my 2000 lc and now the customization starts!!!
Quick question? How do i remove all the panneling to get to the HVAC lights and all the lights under the speedo?

is there a good write up on this that i haven't found yet?

Doubtful that there's a write up. Just start tearing things out and don't break anything, you'll find them eventually! That's how most of us do it anyways :hillbilly:

Go to Harbor Freight and get a cheap set of plastic trim removal tools. They will save you from a lot of scratches. The panels should come off with minimal force, if it feels hard you are probably doing something wrong, look for a hidden screw or adjacent panel that needs to be removed.

Looks great!! I still have to do mine (I went with factory bulbs). The only vid (after a lot of searching!) on how to remove any section is for the middle cluster and not really the intent of the video, but for future visitors to the page....

Don't know about the speedo but the HVAC I assume would start the same way the head unit comes out; gently pry back the trim around the stereo. The "holding" tabs are generally near each corner of the trim piece

Exactly right, then after you remove the front plate there are about 6 screws that need to be removed to access the PCB board that holds the lights.

Not sure if its just the pictures, but your instrument cluster looks much brighter than mine and more white. Which #74 bulbs did you use for that area?
