So, after changing water pump, belts, and hoses, I'm out for a test drive and decide to turn on the AC just to check it out. Everything works fine for while, but I notice that the compressor starts making a louder and louder clunk when it engages. AC still works fine. I zap the AC clutch with some lubricant and the noise goes away for a while but has now started again. What is the likely diagnosis?

Magnetetic clutch on compressor is showing it age.
Kind of what I figured. It looks like there is a kind of a belt tensioner thing to the bottom of the pulley. I can't get it to swing and it wasn't in contact with the belt when I removed it. Is that just an "extra" part?

What kind of a job is replacing the clutch on this? Rock Auto shows a remanufactured Vista Pro clutch for $32....

I have the new AC Clutch in hand. Anyone have tips before I dive in to replace?
