Love these, I ripped out my ABS long ago, but left these in to seal the openings. One question though: the plugs look really thick, is that the pic? Do they need to be so thick or can they be a little thinner and you save yourself on materials?

It’s a lot smaller than you’d expect. I’ll take a pic in the morning so you can see the scale.

Redid the profile of the rear so that it follows better with the bolt.

So what's the ETA on availability on these? Will they be before or after the fuel filter relocation kit?

;)

That is the dilemma I face as well. I have only added grease twice, really just for the hell of it, but the pressure has always been in the back of my mind. I sort of assume the pressure is pretty low, plus I figure the seal between the ball and the felt/seal combo is far from air tight. As far as the level, I normally gauge that based on where the grease line shows up on the underside of the ball where the wiper wipes. Its pretty easy to know where your level is that way too.
Dilemma?

Seth_O son of a...!

I have a batch of OEM zircs (same as driveshaft) and caps coming in. Once I verify the size I’ll whip up a batch and do my customary pixie dust on them. Maybe week or two. :flipoff2:
Unnecessary .. thank you.

Wether to leave it in or take it out. The convenience of being able to add some grease is nice, but I have been a little concerned about the pressure I may be putting into the knuckle when greasing it this way. I think, I am just going to loosen the plug a couple of turns prior to pumping the grease in. There shouldn't be a problem then. However, if I was to ever delete abs or have a rig using an 80 axle with the abs deleted, I would use Joey's solution and keep the inspection plug. I would really hate to have the sensor in the knuckle if I didn't need it, and his plug is just nice and clean.

You should have them hard anodized and a O-ring on the rear one, and of course grease the shaft always when dissimilar metals are touching always :moon:

Why are you always showing us your arse???

No galvanic corrosion if no water. :p

But yes to grease. I have packets ;)

:flush: There is always moisture, and the cast iron, is porous and absorbs water, and you being capitain OCDDVDHDTV I am surprised you don't have them done:meh::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Can I test prototypes for the rears? I’m putting an 80 axle under my 60 🤣
