Was driving in Brekenridge last night and it was snowing pretty hard. I used the center and rear locker and it made a big difference.

Coming back today, I had the Center Diff locked coming up to eisenhower tunnel, I disengaged it at 40mph while in the tunnel (1.5 mile tunnel) and then slowed down to 35 to reingage when leaving the tunnel.

When the road condition improved, I dis-engaged the center diff, It showed it disenegaged, but the ABS light stayed on. 20 miles later I pulled into a gas station and when I started up again, the ABS light was off and everything was fine back to Denver.

I was running the center diff switch off the speeds posted here in another post. It was stated that you could engage it in speeds up to 40 mph. I will only do the front lockers if I am stopped or going less than 5mph.

Questions are is the ABS light behaviour something normal. And is 40 MPH to fast to engage/disengage the Center/

Thanks,

Ken

Normal. Disengaging at speed will keep ABS off. I forget the exact speed, but 40MPH sounds right.

Ken, couple of things:

A. You were driving WAY too slow!! :D You need to come flying out of that tunnel, end up off in Loveland ski area somewhere! :D
B. Yes that is normal.

Thanks guys.

Actually I was wanting to come home Friday night in the middle of the snow storm. I thought it wouldn't be a problem and having fresh snow rather than ice would be better. The wife, brother,sister-in law, and Dad all said that was stupid and I needed to spend the night until the sun was up and the roads were plowed. On the way back the ABS light stayed on and the wife said, "you shouldn't have been switching your locker (CDL) going so fast"
