Hi, I've been a lurker on this forum for a few months now and thought it was about time to join in. I have an 06 GX that I bought last November in Phoenix with 65K miles on it (thanks to the previous owner, who ever you may be, for taking such good care of it!).

Now has around 85K on it...lots of trips up to CO. Maintenance was up to date when I bought it but have since done a complete transmission fluid swap, front and rear diff fluid and transfer case fluid (thanks to everyone's posts these all were fairly easy). I've done the running board delete with the cutting mod to cover up the spot by the front wheels, unhooked the CD player and added in an audivox box to add an iphone hook up and put on a ROLA roof rack. Finally I just finished building a cargo box for the back (if there's any interest I can post the route I took). Next up will a timing belt over Christmas...wish me luck.

Quick question: Our wheels are 17x7.5 with a 25 mm offset...are most people going with a 17x8 for aftermarket wheels with a positive offset still? I'm finding quite a few wheels I like but most have a 0mm offset so I'm concerned about a weird look if the wheels stick out an inch and half further on each side. Any insight into wheel specs you guys are using would be great, thanks!

Welcome. I am new to the GX470 so no advise on wheels. However, the local ABQ club: NM- High Desert Cruisers

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. Hopefully I'll see some of you on the trails.

wow how awesome to find one with such low miles!! that's crazy!

Yeah, it was a good find single owner with full Lexus MX history stamped in the book. I saw it go up for sale online at a dealer and drove 5 hrs to Phoenix the next day. It had the infamous driveline thud when I bought it so maybe they just wanted to sell it quick and not mess with it.

Did i see you GX in the HP parking lot in Rio Rancho last week?

Picked up a perfect 100 Cruiser over the weekend with 90K miles on it that I just couldn't pass up! So Lexy will be going up for sale today...I'll post it over in the classifieds section.

I know I've only been posting on here for a short time but I have read so much on here over the past year. Thanks everyone for contributing to this 120 forum, it helped me beyond believe since I've owned the truck!

Great looking 100. I've had several of them in the past (and still have a 2000 that's running great at 306,000 miles - it's what I use for more off-road travel), but I have to say I'm finding I might like my GX better than I have my 100s and LXs. It has a lot more features than the 100, it's much quieter overall, it rides better, etc. I do like the liftgate/tailgate of the 100 better, and all of my 100 series seem to have stopped better, but other than that, overall I'm finding the GX to be a more enjoyable platform.

My wife drove a 2003 GX from 2004 to 2014, and I always liked it; however, it wasn't until I sold my '03 LX and bought an '04 GX (and proceeded to lift it, install new tires, etc.) that I discovered just how great these trucks are........it'd be difficult for me to get excited about buying another 100 at this point.
