No, Trac is not for 2wd. My 100 series uses TRAC and it's a full time 4 wheel drive. There is no difference noticed by myself between Trac and A-Trac, and I have owned both 100 series and FJC.

Is it possible to re-map say a 2008 Sequoia to a FJ A-TRAC spec. intervention?

Sure...by Toyota...they know the programming. By us? I doubt it. What would the outcome be? A huge SUV on a mid-size program? Who knows. I have read the Seq VSC kicks in REAL EARLY so in order to control the sloppy big beast before you get too aggressive.

I am sorry to vacate for the time I have. I have talked with a few Toyota people that have talked me through some of the differences. But until I have some stuff in Writeing I do not want to comment at this time. My training that I have commented on is different than what is in the print that John posted. So until I have some stuff in writing, I will not go futher on hearsay. I like others have found differences in written and well as verbal. I do know what I have experenced. And I do know the tech differences that lead to differences in performance. But again, I have little in writing.
That said, Trac and A-trac is a cool factory option and with a locker or two as a slectable feature, the vechicle is almost unstable(regarless of the model, FJC, 4/runner or land crusier). After that it is the driver and the experence that will take the vehicle up kick ass trails.
With the right driver, some of these things are not needed at all(I am not talking about myself here, just some killer drivers I have meet from time to time).
Happy new year, Robbie

So, i have been reading the posts, a friend has an 01 Sequoia, teh stability control is way too sensitive, is there some way to either put it on an on/off switch or turn it off?

thanks

Same system we have however the software in the Seq makes it very intrusive and for a purpose. Large, softly sprung, and top heavy...needs better safety control. Plus, its not intended to be a true wheeler so it's less aggressive in rocks and sand.
