Hi There

Have a 2011 LC 200 still running on the OEM Dunlop AT 23 - 285 60 18.
It has now 29 K Miles and I am due for a change in few thousand miles.

We go skiing in the winter so the truck will see occasional snow on the road. I would like to have an A/T.

Wanted the BF Goodrich KO2 ....while shopping on tire rack they have a load range D. Would this be result in a harsher ride ?

Anyone has the KO2 as a daily driver ?

My second choice would be the Yokoama Geolander AT/S which has same load range as stock, cheaper but may not be as well in snow.

Jay

You will be very happy with KO2s in snow and on the street. Super comfortable/quiet, and excellent in snow without chains (or with).

Is there a reason you don't want load range E? I have found E's very nice at about 40PSI or about 38 without heavy gear loaded.

Thanks for your reply Markuson.

My LC 200 is still stock and mainly the family car. I think the BF Goordrich KO 2 is a load D which is higher load than stock.

My understanding is that higher load means stronger sidewall/plys which may impact comfort/ride.

Yep what markuson said, I love mine. Great, great tire 100 percent satisfied. Good road manners, not loud at all, very good in the snow (I wanted them for the same reason you did, occasional skiing and beach driving) you won't be disappointed. I bought 5 (one for th spare) and they look great.

I first mounted my KO2's with the truck completely stock, and it was 100% as comfortable, if not better after going to a smaller wheel/bigger tire (285/70/17). Really nice. About the only thing that would lead to a bumpy ride would be way too high PSI, or too stiff a suspension upgrade. I think if you ask around here, you'll find a lot of happy owners and even happy owner's spouses who find the E's super comfy on the road. Up to you, but if you give up the stronger side-wall for fear of a harsh ride, I think you could miss strength that wouldn't cause any issue.

You can't go wrong with either the K02's or the Toyo ATIIs, both newer technology, better gripping, better sipping and last a long time

We also drive a lot of miles on K02s, we have 8 with the m1101 and spares. I'd buy them again without hesitation. Since it hasn't been mentioned I'd also say they are pretty great on serious desert silt, sand, rocks and dirt. Also can take a mean cactus spine ;)

I don't have too many tire shots but here you can see six of the eight LOL..

I had KO2's on my Yukon; when I sold it they had 30,000 miles on them and looked brand new. They were tremendous in snow and on dry highway. BFG made some incredible advances between the old KO and the KO2.

I love my KO2 so far. I have had them on my LX450 for about 3,000 miles and they are super smooth on the road. Aired down to 15 psi on the trail, they did great in mud, rock and stream on the trail. Great hybrid tire...

I just saw that I posted in the 200 forum, lol

I have an 80, but either way, great tires

FYI - I am now finding that trying to locate 275-70/18s are becoming an issue. I was just told a minimum 5-7 day wait for this tire. BTW, 285-65-18s are readily available... for about $60 per tire more.

Thanks a lot for the positive interview. I ll be ordering off tire rack shortly.

Jay

Many places to buy that are a lot cheaper than Tire Rack, i.e. 4 Wheel Parts

^2 on 4wheelparts.com - great prices.
