Hi all,
A little off topic, I would like to give a shout-out to overlanded for great customer care.

I ordered a Safari ARMAX snorkel for my LX470 from them at noon, their rep - Palmer Barr - contacted me by email, making sure I ordered the right part for my truck.
Subsequently, he sent me the tracking number on the same day after confirming fitment.
And surprisingly, i got the snorkel at my door on the next day

It's rare these days to get good customer care, and talk to real people

This is my first time dealing with them, but for sure, I will come back for any parts need in the future.

You know you need some extra parts to accommodate that snorkel into your 100 right?

What extra parts? (Seriously asking. I'd think something that was $700+ would come with everything) Other than the tools you need of course.
What I'd be concerned about is that "Does Not Fit Left Hand Drive Vehicles" on the sticker in the 2nd pic.
Would assume it doesn't have the antenna cutout.

That's why you get the 100 series Safari snorkel from @cruiseroutfit, they include the necessary parts.

thanks for pointing that out, i have not opened the package yet.

I see a lot of people in this forum have this snorkel with good results, that's the reason i chose it.

is there a left-hand driver model?

That snorkel is not designed for our air boxes.
That's why you get the 100 series Safari snorkel from @cruiseroutfit, they include the necessary parts.

Just finished my Safari Snorkel Install. I thought it was pretty easy. So here is my step by step....


1. Remove airbox and fender inlet from under hood. Lower or remove plastic under fender wheel well (I just lowered mine). Remove air duct and power antenna. I just cut the antenna wire instead of trying to fish it out.

-I chose to remove my antenna instead of trying to heat and bend the snorkel because with my aftermarket radio, I'm not using my antenna anyways.

Here is the airbag and fender inlet removed

Fender liner lowered and intake tube...

The SS86HF Snorkel is discontinued and the newer version, the SS86HP clearly states its for the 100 series with the round, not rectangular air box (i.e. non-US). but I'm thinking it can and has been done. Before the "buy the $100 eBay one" comments, it's in consideration, but I like a challenge and if it'll help the Mud community I'm in.

could I source a round air box? or just McGuyver something into the rectangular one?

what has been done?

That's the older style snorkel pimp. Sorry. That snorkel was updated with the one you have now. It won't fit without the hose adapter and modifying the air box.

Gotcha. Thought all the 4.7s had the square box and the diesels the round one.
