A couple observations from my recent trip to Iceland -
1. Land Cruisers (especially 120 and 150 Series) are EVERYWHERE.
2. Arctic Truck conversions are EVERYWHERE.

I thought the Arctic Trucks were very rare, but it seems like 5% of all the cars I saw in Iceland were Arctic Trucks. I started my trip by taking pictures of all them, but by the first afternoon, it was like taking pictures of robins. They're just everywhere.

We'll start with some 120 Series content and move on from there....

Also went to Scotland and England. Funny thing, in those countries all you see are Land Rovers and passenger cars. In the magazine rack there are (no joke) six different magazines devoted to Rovers, and none pertaining to any other type of 4x4.

Saw some cool cars though....

We rented the 150 Series diesel at the end of Post #2. It's a nice truck overall, but I was most impressed when we started up a long 12% grade and the diesel engine just chugged right up that hill like it didn't even notice. I like my V8, but the diesel was cool to try out for a few days.

Oh, and if you needed one more reason to go to Iceland - the women are all super hot. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and trim. My wife wouldn't let me take a bunch of pictures of that though. :slap:

Thanks. Like the flotation tires look, guessing MPG/MPL suck

I've always liked the 90 series cruisers, would be fun to get hands on one once eligible for 25+ year rule. Surprised to see Excursions, always figured those would cost too much gas wise to run and too big those roads?

Seems like most vehicles are diesel over there, so not sure how much impact the mods have on mpg. The roads I drove in Iceland were awesome. Very modern, at least on the western end of the country. Better than the roads in the US in general. I'd love to learn more about where and how they drive those monsterous trucks over there.

We also went to Scotland, where most of the roads are glorified golf cart paths, with a 60 mph speed limit, hilly curves, no shoulder, and oncoming semi trucks. The locals apparently have no fear and a Colin McRae spirit. My life passed in front of my eyes on more than one occasion.

Ireland is the same way

I need that freaking hood ornament in a Lexus version.

Are all these fender flares mass produced somewhere? Could I get a set and bolt them to my GX or Tacoma or Yukon and run some 325 tires and not worry about mud down the side or rubbing?

Arctic Trucks' website says they won't sell those separately from the full conversion. They suggest significant body modification is required to fit the flares.
