Went to stants website and it's set up real nice. I ran all the pn's that you cats mentioned and they cross them to other store brands. So I have 4 caps being sent to napa right now. I'll report on if any of the work.

Broken wrench: what year VW did you use for your cap?

Re Stant 10806
Per stats site...
Toyota Land Cruiser 1976 6-Cyl. 258
Toyota Land Cruiser 1977 6-Cyl. 258
Toyota Land Cruiser 1978 6-Cyl. 258
Toyota Land Cruiser 1982 6-Cyl. 4.2 L
Toyota Land Cruiser 1985 6-Cyl. 4.2 L
Toyota Land Cruiser 1986 6-Cyl. 4.2 L
Toyota Land Cruiser 1987 6-Cyl. 4.2 L
Toyota Land Cruiser 1988 6-Cyl. 4.0 L
Toyota Land Cruiser 1989 6-Cyl. 4.0 L

I've been using a 10806 for almost 20 years on my 1974 Fj40.

CCOTs locking cap claims to fit...
FJ40 9/1972 - 8/1976 AND FJ60 & FJ62 8/1980 - 1990.

Once those caps come in I'll give a report on what works. If all fails cruiser parts has a fuel necks for $25 off of a later model 40.
