Mine was low and a buddy of mine who has an older Toyota told me to get Freeze12. I am not sure of any difference other thanI didn't have to convert to anything newer. It did the trick. IMy 80 is no kicking out 36 degree cold air.

Howdy! R12 is not hard to find at a regular A/C shop. It is still legal to use, just not to manufacture. It wholesales for around $30 per 12 oz can. If you use a product like Freeze 12, the A/C shops will refuse to work on your car, as it will contaminate the R12 supply when they evacuate it. John

well, if R134a is a DIY, I'm imagining the same thing applies to Freeze 12. After you've fixed the source of the leak, you should be able to evac and recharge yourself using Freeze 12, no? Is that stuff as expensive as R12? $30/can...wow!
if it's still cooling, I'd wait. Never know what can happen when you work on it. For instance, I just recharged mine. When done, I put a little cap (not the OEM) on the low side port, and it so happened I looked later and it was gone. Turns out there was a slight leak in the Schraeder valve that I could see, and the pressure popped the cap off. I had to wiggle and pull out the stem with pliers to stop it. Had I not seen it, it would have promptly emptied itself out again. Stupid stuff like that.
Sorry, maybe I missed it, but '94 was R134.

)- caught that in another A/C recharge thread - so I'll look at the sticker and see tonight just to be sure! If so, will certainly save some $$ over an R12 recharge!
wasn't 94 the crossover model year with some 12 and some 134? or maybe that was the trans or some other such thing. Anyway, clearly a weird year...
