Does the a/c dryer need to be in a straight up position or could it be mounted angled ? Was thinking about just bending the lines carefully to reposition it so it doesn't hang below my ShortBus bumper instead of relocating to the battery box. Anyone see a problem doing this ?:meh:

Glad you asked I have the same question.

You mean like this? It will never work...

Mine on the other hand has worked with no ill effects for over six months so far.

Excellent, exactly what I was hoping. Thanks !!

I wonder if there are any long term effects.

I've wondered about this as well, thanks for asking because I forgot to....can any a/c experts chime in here?

I've done the same thing. It's been working fine. Cut off the top portion of the factory bracket and used the same bolt location to mount it.

6 months through the winter in ID? it that really a good test. with that being said i will probably doing something similar. mine hangs out of my bumper about 4 inches

I don't think there would be any negative long term effect. I've seen them mounted sideways and the system still worked, but I'd avoid that.

How do you think it would handle these Texas summers?

Your advise was what I was hoping to get, Thanks !

FJFOOL,

Thanks for the motivation! Did this yesterday right after I read this thread...

Yes six months in a Idaho winter is a good test, the A/C runs with the defrost on.

Any tube bending tips?

Grab a cold one and take your time. I put my thumb on the inside of the bend so I can feel if the tube is going to try and kink before it actually does. I didn't have any problems bending the lines, just take your time and make the bends as wide of a radius as possible, they actually bend pretty easy.

Cool! Do you have any pictures on your build where you modded the lines. I would like to copy your easy bends:grinpimp:

I don't have any good pictures of the lines and where I bent them. You are a smart guy, take your time, you will be fine.
