Hi all,

Thanks for taking time to read this thread. I have installed new idler/tensioner recently. All was fine for a week or so...

Then, I'm pretty sure my A/C bearing is going out now. I turned on and off the A/C and the sound I hear speeds up and slows down.

So... replace just the bearing or the A/C unit? Long term, I was thinking to just replace the A/C unit to forgo any issues in the future? Thoughts?

Does anyone know the correct part # for:
1. A/C Bearing
2. A/C Unit W/clutch, bearing and pulley

I found a Denso A/C unit for a few hundred bucks. This would be easier in the long run I suppose.

Thanks for your feedback!

Buy a Japanese or a branded bearing. AVOID any Chinesium bearings (max 6000 miles of life).

no affiliation with this site, but here is one source for the bearing

I usually have access to these bearings NSK made in Japan while I am overseas. Might bring few extras to help out the members. It does not cost $60. I have to check out my stock to see whether I have any extras.

This is the one i bought. I had ordered before I saw the kit Excessive posted. However, I am just ordered the one Excessive posted so I'll return the other one.

Seems bearing direct has good feedback

If you can avoid it, never buy bearings retail; it's a scam. Any roller or thrust bearing can be bought from a bearing distributor for pennies on the dollar.

I buy from bearings direct all the time, but any bearing distributor will be OK. They sell to industry and if they aren't reputable, they don't live long.

I checked a local bearing distributor and was quoted $58 for the NSK bearing. It was listed as no stock and estimated delivery of late July. He even said in his reply he found it on ebay and Amazon, and that would probably be my best bet. lol

here is another source for the Nachi brand bearing, which is a high-quality bearing
I have no affiliation with these companies, but they seem legitimate
