Starting to have a lot of trouble shifting into reverse or will grind, and trouble shifting into 1st sometimes now as well.
Im guessing i need new synchros. Anyone know where to source any? Or a whole transmission. I really dont want to rebuild the trans but i also dont want to pay for a whole transmission either so want to explore what my options are.

So first you got to find out what one you need. I went to megazip Link here and it looks like it’s part number 33030-35692 and they have it for $3,500.

I would verify that part number and call up local Toyota dealership just to see if they can order it. Other than that throw the part number into google, eBay, partssouq, amayama, etc

You buy an R151F and 2LT bellhousing + crossmember from me and throw that G52 in the bin !!!!

Reverse gear won’t have a synchro, so if you’re having trouble with it grinding I would make sure your clutch is disengaging properly and check all your shifter bushings.

also did you adjust the clutch pedal? maybe it just needs adjustment. I threw in a new clutch and it wouldn't go ino t reverse at first. I just adjusted the clutch pedal/master cylinder and it shifts beautifully.

Tried adjusting the master cylinder. Same symptoms. Itll shift into 1st ok now but reverse no. So im going to replace the cylinder and hope this fixes it.

Nice rig! did you ever resolve this issue? its worth noting, the G52 can be senstive to oil type. did you try changing the fluid?

Did you fix it? If not I think you are in Georgia, Im in Chattanooga TN and have a G52 that needs bearings for 5th. When 5th started making slight noise I changed the oil on it and then drove it as a 4 speed for a little bit, When I drained it there was no Gliter, It shifted fine but would need a rebuild to fix that bearing... if you are interested in it I would sell it to you cheap!

Sorry for the delay in response. I did. It was the master cylinder. I typically start with the lowest cost culprit and work my way up from there.
I replaced the slave cylinder and it didnt fix it. Replaced the master and its good as new.
