Yikes! Must be a cheap car lot. If you want to test drive her, you got to fill 'er up!

Good Morning! and thanks for the input! One last bumber thought comes to mind and that is corrosion resistance - I live near the coast. Also on that subject how does one remove the weak factory rack and cleanly fill the holes?

Arrgh! my stupid check engine light just came on! Truck runs great and I just had it in to the dealer for a servce and a couple warrantee fixes 3 weeks ago while it was still under warrantee. Maybe they forgot to reset something? Sometimes brake light sticks on too!

"Sometimes the brake light sticks on .."

I had this problem with my cruiser when I drove it across the continent after purchase . Got a little old being woken up in the motel at 3 am every stop to .." Sorry to bother you , but we noticed your vehicle brake lights are stuck on ..." . I'd go out and play with the pedal and that would seem to fix it for the nite . Lucky I kept getting away with it as the PO had put a golf cart battery in the 80 :flipoff2: :flipoff2: Actually it was one of those warm climate sissy truck batteries .

Heres the fix :

  • Pop the driver door open and get down and familiarize yourself with the brakelight switching mechanism .
  • An adjustable and box wrench ought to do .
  • You need to recalibrate/ adjust the 2 nuts that establish the switch depth . IOW's a switch seems to be mounted thru a pc of metal . By adjusting the nuts you can retract it a little .

At nite the weight of my pedal itself was enough to eventually engage the switch as it slowly sunk downwards . By adjusting the switch position , I gained the fraction of an inch needed to avoid such an occurance .
