Wanted 97 CE with lockers - CA or West Coast

Realize this is probably going to be a mission to locate but I'm looking for:

97 Collectors Edition model
Factory lockers
White/Super White Paint
Tan Leather Interior
No Rust
Less than 100k miles
Maintenance Records
Clean CarFAX report
Preferably stock with no mods

Don't know how deep you are into this search, but just a few thoughts...

There were a grand total 822 locked CE's built, and there were 10 colors offered that year.

Cocktail napkin math to follow:

Your entire universe of cars is probably under 150 units. Layer on the sub-100K miles requirement and you're probably looking at fewer than 30. Rust-free, clean Carfax, mod free, with records will easily chop that number in half. Probably by 2/3rds.

So, I'd venture to guess that there are 10 or 15 rigs out there.

If you find one, and I hope you do, expect to pay $35K to sky-is-the-limit to fill this very specific desire.

All good points, I expect to compromise on one or more things, that's just the list of what's important to me.

I don't think me wanting a particular color necessarily inflates the fair market price beyond other vehicles with similar specs... Have you seen sub-100k mi CEs going for that much money? Most of what I've come across with similar specs is in the $25-30k range.

What you are describing is in no way a sub $30k vehicle.

There are a few recent comps, and they're all $40k+ for a locked 40th or CE. I do track the market, since I own one and am always looking for more pristine 80s.

Look at the low-mile unlocked green 96 on Ebay. Its edging toward $30k. And that's being sold by a flipper on a skipped Title.

And yes, white would command a premium.

Edit: Compromising on one or more reqs should shave the price down a bit.

2nd Edit: also beware of fake CEs and 40ths. Especially CEs. There's a white 80 on Ebay being pitched as a 40th. Of course, they didnt come in that color. And theres a guy here on Mud trying to sell an 80 for stupid $$ claiming it to be a special edition. The only thing special about it are the stickers he bought and slapped on the fenders.

Pitching a white 80 as a 40th is hilarious, anybody that's done even cursory research knows that can't be real.

I guess the mere fact that 80s are being flipped on Ebay means there are deals out there far below those auction prices so I'll remain optimistic in my search!
