94 LC Check Engine Code 12 (1 Viewer)

Can someone give me the description for check engine code 12 for a 94 LC? I used the jumper method and got codes 12 and 71. 71 I was able to track down and determined it to be a cracked EGR hose, but I have had not luck with code 12. Thanks.

Your 96 is OBD II which you need a code reader to pull the codes. OR take it to Vatozone (or any other national chain) and they can pull the codes for you- most do it for free.

On pre 95 - you can pull your own codes with a SST...aka a paper-clip. Yes...a paper clip. It is a nice feature...along with the superior tranny!

Thanks. I believe I triggered code 12 when changing the distributor cap and initially failing to plug the electronics back in to the distributor.

Remove the negative battery terminal for 5-10 minutes and re-install. It will probably clear your code.
