Hey guys I'm just testing the waters here to see if there would be some interest in my LC
I bought it because I couldn't find a Tacoma at the time that didn't have 200k miles
I needed a vehicle to move my grandparents things from AZ to SC and my things from WI to AZ
Its currently in Janesville WI and I'm in Phoenix getting my grandparents house ready to sell
if it sells in WI great if not then i guess I will drive it out here to the SW
Okay now about the Vehicle,
Clean car fax clean and clear title in my name.
The original owner was a DR in New York and he only put about 5k miles on it a year.
Then It was sold on Ebay to a gentleman In Santa Fe NM,
He had a shop do a little work on it including a Front axle overhaul from brake caliper to brake caliper.
Then It was sold to a gentlemen in Albuquerque who works on Kirtland AFB.
He has owned several LC and he started to build it up into a adventure vehicle for his family.
He took the fender flares off and had the area they were rhino lined
He installed a 2 or 2.5 Iron man lift.
New Tie Rod with ends.
Had a new exhaust put on from the header back. High flow stainless Catalytic converters.
He installed a Pioneer DVD player head unit that has a reverse camera/Bluetooth/XM radio
New speakers
4x4 labs rear bumper.
Then I bought it The truck looked and ran great. I changed the oil and drove it from Albuquerque to Phoenix pulling my little tent trailer and still got 14-15mpg
Then when I got back to Albuquerque I started to get it ready to drive cross country.
I ordered a Koyo 3 row brass Radiator that has a lifetime warranty if you flush it once a year
First I went to American Toyota and talked to Cdan.
He sold Me a gasket kit to do a head gasket to replace every gasket i had to remove
heating/cooling hoses
fuel filter
Oil pressure sending unit
pcv valve
all the vacuum lines
thermostat
I'm sure I'm forgetting something I have all the receipts I will check them out later.
So then I removed the head and took it to a engine builder near American Toyota and had them
clean the head, resurface it, install new valve guide seals because they came with the gasket kit.
I also removed the oil cooler and cleaned it out while I was in there.
I then decided to use silicone hoses instead of the factory ones
I went to Koenings metal yard in ABQ and bought some tubing for a full size gamvanti style roof rack with a cut out for the moon roof.
and then I drove it to SC and then to Wisconsin without any problems!
Got to Wisconsin and Installed 5 new General Grabber red letters in 285/75R16
and then 3 days later I flew to Phoenix .
now this is the part about testing the waters.
Obviously the previous owners to me spend a good deal of money into this rig and I spent even more money into it so i feel like being that I'm a young man who is about to go back to school and be a broke college student I should sell it while it still has extremely low miles and I can possibly break even.
otherwise I can't afford to have a different Daily Driver and this one will rack up a bunch of road driving when i should really be owned by someone who wants to take it out on an adventure.
I would love to but don't have the funds for the foreseeable next couple years.
so what do you think it is worth?
I will try to get more pictures from someone back in WI but I will upload the ones I have.
cosmetically this rig is a 9/10
and mechanically its pretty much the same
So give me some offers and If I can break even I will sell
I'm a little embarrassed to post how much I have spent on this truck but at the time I needed something and it did the job perfectly.
I did a a thread on here about the head gasket job and roof rack
speaking of roof rack it never came with one from the factory so there isn't any holes in the roof.
these pictures are with the older Duratrack tires.
If anyone has a double cab Tacoma that they would be willing to trade thats what I plan to buy after this sells. their cheaper to maintain and I like having a bed and Don't have a family so i don't need the large comfortable back seats of a LC
