I have a 94 4wd deluxe extra cab with the 3.0 v6. I'm having an issue that just stared. when accelerating at higher rpm's it seems to have a slight buck almost like restriction, like it wants to keep accelerating then holding back a bit and so on and so forth. It seems to idle fine, maybe a slight miss, it's hard to tell. The head gasket is fine. I replace the catalytic converter a couple of years ago along with a new distributer cap and wires at that time. It has around 80,000 miles on it and I don't put a lot of miles on it per year. it had the usual head gaskets done when it was younger and is not losing antifreeze. it was running good until recently. I'm open to suggestions and would appreciate any input.

Fuel pump would be my guess. Or the original fuel filter.

I'll definitely try replacing the filter, I did years ago but maybe it's due again. Is the fuel pump in the gas tank on these? One thing I forgot to note, I replaced the spark plugs when I did those other things. I used NGK. The check engine light hasn't come on either. Thanks Pappy

ok, I will

I would go ahead and check the ECU for any codes. Some error codes don't trip the MIL.

Check timing?

Check the TPS?

How do I check the throttle Position? this is a 94, can you please remind me how to check the codes? I remember using a jumper wire years ago? Now, I have a new problem that I created with the MAF. I'm going to post that also. I'm a mess today

Sounds stupid but... pull the plugs and check them. Wifes yoter was doing the same thing and was totally baffled thinking it was something complicated. Turned out the plugs from the last tune up just went s***ty faster than I would have thought. Caused exactly the same thing... bucked super hard on the highway but would do fine otherwise.

Just like you, I had a broken spark plug. Thanks
