Hello,
I pulled my 1FZ and A442F to make room for a vortec swap so I might as well post them for sale. $500 for the pair, I WILL NOT SHIP. NO engine harness, water temp gauge sender, oil pressure sender, and it is missing a few bolts here and there.
No transfer case
Roughly 300k on the pair, engine ran great WITH NO OIL LEAKS before being pulled, transmission had an odd shifting issue that MAY be related to solenoids or the wiring work I did, but drove normally when the correct procedure was used. I planned to keep this engine and maintained it as such, but the vortec swap just started making more sense.
Not sure of HG history, truck had green coolant when I bought it at 280k but no sludge, so appears they did a good job of flushing
LOTS of new/fresh stuff in the last 20k, some of which was OE, others were high quality replacement like denso or bosch
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, water pump, thermostat, belt idler, AC tensioner bearing, reworked blue-hub fan clutch, belts, alternator brushes, PS pump rebuild kit, oil pump cover oring changed, front main seal, valve cover gasket and spark plug tube grommets, dist oring, oilpans removed and re-sealed using toyota FIPG, etc etc etc
50 mile old oreilly starter, is the larger 2Kw unit
PAIR removed/deleted
Transmission works great EXCEPT.. when put into park or neutral for more than a few seconds, if you then go into Drive the truck starts and stays in 3rd gear until about 15mph, then drops down to first, and shifts normally (including 1st, etc), even when stopping... until you go back to park or neutral.
OR.. if from park/neutral, you go into reverse, move at least 6 feet, then when going into Drive, transmission shifts normally.
This is odd behavior, but I worked around it for a year, and believe the transmission is fundamentally sound. This truck had a 97 body & dash harness grafted onto the 94 engine/trans/front clip harness, so it is possible the problem lies with my wiring. But it didn't get any worse since it started happening.
I have a hoist to help load onto a trailer or truck, but need some warning as it'll have to be moved outside and assembled.
Engine kept outside but covered by a tarp
