would that likely indicate a gen market build? could be Venezuela or central america?Toyota semi-float rear axle.
interesting. It's pretty basic inside. no heat. no air. Definitely a project once i can get it running. i'm assuming sourcing that stuff isn't necessarily easy, but plentiful if one can find the resources. It would not be either of those countries. It’s a Japan manufacture for the GEN market.

correct, just a speedo, batter light, oil light, 4WD light and a temp gauge that doesn't work right now.Toyota make them to suit the market its going to. I guess you have a rudimentary dash gauge cluster as well.
Absolutely the plan! I also need to change the shocks just to bring it back to reasonable daily driver status.@USAFBuckeye , Just a thought, is the wire connected to the sending unit for the Water Temp Gauge?
Also, you mentioned you think you may need the alternator rebuilt. That may be the case, but first check you have the correct "V" belts, and check the tension on the belts first. And just FYI, if a lot of lights start "blinking" or "Flashing" it could also be the External Voltage Regular that is the problem. Whoever is going to rebuild the Alternator, can probably test both.
Just looking at pics you posed of the engine bay, I'd change the brake fluid and clutch reservoir fluid. They both take DOT 3.
It couldn't hurt to change out the power steering fluid too. When you bleed that, make sure you jack up the front end so you can turn the steering wheel lock to lock without pressure on the tires on the ground. Just ATF for the Power Steering Fluid. Hope that helps.
